2 arrested following search of parked car

A man wanted for failing to appear on earlier criminal charges faces new charges after police say he was found hiding beneath clothing in a parked car early Sunday.

Harold A. Douglas, 37, of 818 N. Blish St. in Seymour, now faces a Class A felony charge of dealing in methamphetamine and charges of possession of paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and false informing, Jackson County Sheriff’s Department Officer Mark Holt said.

Holt said Douglas was a passenger in a red Pontiac also occupied by Sara Staggs, 19, of Freetown. Staggs was arrested and faces charges of dealing in methamphetamine, operating while intoxicated, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
